The process is simple. You can call us on 9659 9010 or 0477 704 517 to book a trial first. We assess all kids to ensure they are placed in the correct class for their age and ability. We will ask for some basic family details to create an account and book a trial class for your kids. Alternatively, you can create your own online account by clicking here. After the trial, one of our admin staff will call you to discuss the results and recommend a class based on the feedback of the coach. If you agree to proceed, we will raise the fees and discuss payment with you.
Your child can start gymnastics as early as 6 months of age. Our I PLAY program is suitable for children 6-18 months. This class aims to introduce babies to learning how to actively play and introducing a range of exercises which are important for early development. For more information, click here
Each child trials a class first so we can determine your child’s gymnastics ability and make a class recommendation. Trials are always free for all our Early Learning programs. Free trials are available to school aged children weeks 9 and 10 of each term plus during school holidays.
For pre-school children (6 months to 5 years) who are note yet quite ready to attend a structured class, we suggest joining our Playgroup. Our Playgroup is a more casual setting, allowing your child to roam and explore the gym with your assistance without an expectation to follow a circuit. Your child is free to pick and choose what equipment they like to use in their own time and space with your encouragement. For more information and to book, click here
All our Early Learning, Competitive and Adult Gymnastics programs offer free trials. Our Recreational programs offer an obligation – free trial. This means if your child trials and you go ahead with the booking, the trial will be changed as part of your term’s fees. If you do not proceed with enrolment, you will not be charged for the trial. Free trials for all programs are offered weeks 9 and 10 of each school term and during our school holidays.

Each gymnast is required to pay an annual Gymnastics Australia/Gymnastics NSW Annual membership registration fee. This fee covers your child in case they injure themselves while participating in gymnastics. The fee is raised annually starting from Term 1 of each school year. Please note this fee is non – refundable. For more information, please visit Gymnastics Australia website.

You can still attend your regular class during those two weeks. A pro rata adjusted credit of term fees will be made to your account. Credit will be valid until the end of the current calendar year and can be used towards any of our activities and programs such as our School holiday Program, birthday party deposit, or if you decide to continue term classes later.

We are tracking your child’s gymnastics progress all throughout their time with us, not just at the end of the year. Once your child masters the skills required for their level, the coach will advise admin and admin will contact you to discuss options for your child. If you feel that your child is ready to move to the next level, please speak to our administration staff and they will coordinate with the coach for your child to be assessed for possibly trialing in the next level class.
All children participating in our Recreational Program are assessed at the end of each term. At the end of Terms 1,2 and 3 children will execute a routine based on a specific apparatus. Parents will receive an email about this to the email address that we have on your account a few weeks prior.
During the week 8 class, participants will have the opportunity to showcase an apparatus routine featuring the skills they have been learning. Certificates are presented with coach’s scores out of 10 for each skill. This assessment aims to celebrate and encourage the students’ hard work and progress throughout the term.
Towards the end of Term 4 (usually weeks 7 & 8) we will test the students to determine if they are ready to move to the next level. Children will be tested on each apparatus with a specific set of skills for each apparatus. The testing scores will be recorded on a certificate which will be presented to your child at the end of Term 4.
If you notice that your child is suddenly not that keen on gymnastics, please see our admin staff and discuss your concerns. Admin will then work with you, the child and the coach to determine what could be causing this reaction. We understand that children are affected by many factors and we will explore with you how to best help you and your child.
If your child is continuing gymnastics in terms 2, 3 or 4 term, there is nothing you need to do. Their enrolment will rollover automatically. If you wish to make changes to your child’s class time and/or day, please call us and we can arrange it for you. For Term 1 enrolments you will receive an email towards the end of Term 4 with instructions on what you need to do if you wish to continue.
“Coaches Awards” are an initiative to provide progress and encouragement to children who are doing very well in a certain area of gymnastics. This could be gymnastics based, effort shown in class or behavioural reward. These certificates are handed out at the coaches’ discretion and are designed to encourage and reward learning of gymnastics as well as reinforcing appropriate behaviour in the gym.
If you no longer wish to continue the following term, please call us on 9659 9010 or email info@sydneyhillsgymnastics.com.au
Please call us on 9659 9010 or 0477 704 517 to discuss.
The cost of competitive programs depends on the number of hours your child is required to train. This will be determined once your child is invited to join a competitive squad. The Program Manager will discuss with you the cost, training requirements, competitions, and all other relevant information.
Once a child joins a competitive squad the expectation is that he/she will compete. Unless there is a medical reason for not participating in competitions, all competitive athletes are expected to compete.
Not attending all training sessions is detrimental to your child’s progress. We will discuss this with you and in extraordinary circumstances a reduction in training may be granted for a short period of time. Please discuss this with us at the time of being invited to join the squad.
