What a fantastic conclusion to the competition season for our junior men’s artistic gymnasts at the 2024 NSW Junior State Championships!
As the chalk dust settles and the cheers start to fade, we cannot help but feel so proud of our young gymnasts as they all worked hard on improving their routines and showed the team spirit that makes Sydney Hills Gymnastics so special.
A Day of Champions
The excitement at the State Championships was electric. Friends and family filled the stands, cheering on and lifting our gymnasts as they took to the competition floor. With 50 junior gymnasts from Sydney Hills Gymnastics qualifying for State, they were ready to put their skills to the test and earn points towards the Grand Prix Champions Title.
Meet our Podium Achievers
Vivaan Shah – Level 1 Under 7
Vivaan Shah shone brightly at his level, finishing in 2nd All Around. Under the nurturing guidance of coaches Jad Kheir and Tim Corey, Vivaan’s performance was a great display of skills and youthful energy.
Noah Saad – Level 4 Under 10
All eyes were on Noah Saad as he claimed the title of State Champion! With Coach Sasha Kazhamiakin guiding him, Noah’s precision and skill were on display, especially in his outstanding pommel routine where he scored 10.050.
Ronny Chiu – Level 4 Open
Ronny Chiu placed 2nd All Around! Thanks to Coach Sasha’s unwavering support, Ronny’s dedication and improvement were clear in every routine he performed. His spot on the podium was a well-deserved reward for all his hard work.
Oscar Rogers – Level 5 Under 11
Oscar Rogers had an outstanding competition, earning the title of State Champion! His routines on the Parallel Bars and High Bar both scored over 10. With Coach Sasha’s encouragement, Oscar finished strong on the pommel to win the gold medal.
Zachary Olic – Level 5 Under 11
Zachary Olic put on an impressive show with his floor routine, scoring 10.6, helping him finish in 2nd All Around. Coach Sasha’s guidance helped Zachary showcase his determination and skill.
Krishna Manoj – Level 6 Under 12
Krishna Manoj truly shone as he claimed the title of State Champion! Thanks to Coach Yiheng Wang’sleadership, Krishna has become an inspiring role model, proving himself to be a champion in every way.
Luke Slemint – Level 6 Open
Luke Slemint impressed the judges and the crowd, earning State Champion honours. Under Coach Yiheng’s direction, Luke’s outstanding performances reflected his commitment to building difficulty in his optional routines.
Daniel West – Level 6 Open
Completing our list of achievers, Daniel West proudly earned 3rd All Around. With Coach Sasha by his side, Daniel displayed his hard work and determination, earning him a well-deserved place on the podium.
Celebrating MAG’s Collective Triumph!
For the third year in a row, Sydney Hills Gymnastics was crowned the Tier 1 2024 MAG Overall Grand Prix
Champion Club! This achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of our junior squads. Every gymnast and coachplayed a key role by delivering impressive routines that earned valuable points throughout the season.
The Future Looks Bright!
As we celebrate the achievements of junior gymnasts and the foundation they have built this competition season, we cannot wait to see them continue to grow and excel in the years to come.
